Sina and André planned an intimate destination wedding with 8 of their closest family and friends on the east coast of Zanzibar island. We spoke quite a bit over the months leading up to it to share ideas and to make sure I knew what they wanted, so by the time we met on the morning of their wedding, it felt as though we already knew each other!
They chose to get married at a lovely little resort called Villa Kiva in a small fishing village, Matemwe, where they have one of the best beaches on the island. The ceremony was right on the beach, just a bit away from the rest of the resort to give them a bit of privacy. Mohamed from the regional commission presided over the ceremony to make sure the I Do’s where done legally. Pamela from Castaway Weddings was the wedding planner who as well as providing all the flowers and beautiful decor for the ceremony also made sure that everyone was where they needed to be when.
After the ceremony, congratulations and a drink, we did a shoot on the beach and in the gardens before the couple were whisked off onto a traditional Ngalawa boat for a private cruise ending in a trash the dress shoot when they got back!
Then it was off to the reception where they had a beautiful dinner catered by Villa Kiva and decorated once again by Castaway Weddings while DJ Eddy kept the music flowing!
An awesome wedding that I was super happy to have been chosen to capture!
